HeyBuddy is a friendly app that plugs into CRM and HR systems; allowing teams to break through the complexity of these systems, and easily communicate and access the hard to access content with a branded interface. The UPS HR team adopted HeyBuddy with one goal in mind… provide warehouse managers with an offline mobile app providing the data needed to have meaningful relationships with entry level new hires in their sorting warehouses, or “Hubs”.

HOW HEYBUDDY HELPS UPS'S SALES TEAM

HeyBuddy allows UPS sorting managers to have personal information they need to log 10 meaningful conversations per employee in the first 30 days and log notes & comments for each touch point. Prior to HeyBuddy, there was no digital system in place for managers to access, log, track and analyze information while inside the warehouses. HeyBuddy provides a culture refresh and a new sense of connection; while managers access, share and track the right content to improve employee satisfaction and retention

CHALLENGES

Warehouse worker turnover was very high costing UPS millions per year in hiring entry-level employees. Research showed managers were not interacting with their people in the first 90 days. Data was not accessible in their HR systems, therefore managers were not engaging with employees - and in many cases not even a first name. Without the technology to overcome these challenges, they needed a way to have real-time employee profile information accessible from iPhones on the warehouse floor without an internet connection. Then be able to sync any notes or comments on employee performance, attendance and career journey; then have this data logged and tracked becoming accessible to HR analysis.
